It’s hard to believe that we’ve only been here for two full days because so much has happened. On Monday, our group divided into two teams to visit two different prisons in the area. One team drove about an hour out of the city to a men’s prison and shared testimonies and the message of salvation with more than 100 prisoners there. We were amazed by the number of men who came forward for prayer. After our team prayed over the men, we watched with joy as they began praying for one another, laying hands on the shoulders of each other. It was powerful!
One prisoner, whose story resembled the prodigal son of the Bible, shared with the entire room of men that He experienced the presence of God and was committed to obeying Jesus. We rejoiced with him and know that heaven was doing the same thing! Other prisoners reported healing of pain in their bodies, feeling the presence of God in a personal way, and experiencing a new peace and a new joy.
The second team visited a juvenile prison in Chiang Mai. They spent time praying for and talking with a younger population, sharing testimonies as well as the message of salvation. The team then watched as several of the youth stood up in front of their peers and committed to following Jesus. The team prayed with the boys, many of whom experienced physical and emotional healing. Praise God!
Both teams left the prisons completely in awe of God’s presence!
Today (Tuesday), we go as one team to a village several hours outside of the city. Two of the women from Hannah House, who are from this village, will accompany us and act as our translators. The vast majority of people there are non-believers, but we go with the expectation that God is going to move in mighty ways. We ask you to join us in prayer, that the entire village would be transformed by encountering the Living God, the Most High God, who loves them and who is drawing their hearts to His.
It’s safe to say that Thailand has captured our hearts. We can’t wait to see what He has in store for the coming days!
Here's a snapshot of some of the Team Thailand adventure - just one of the many methods of transporting a group across the city!
